Easy Heart Healthy Oatmeal for lowering cholesterol

1/2 cup oats (gluten free oats if you are sensitive to gluten)

1 cup water

1/4 cup blueberries or chopped apple

1/4-1/2 tsp cinnamon

1/4 cup almonds or walnuts

Directions:

1. Combine all ingredients in a medium sauce pan.

2. Bring to a boil.

3. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes stirring occasionally.

4. Serve as is or add soy milk for added cardiovascular benefit.

Makes 1 serving
